Story Title: Rare Gifts
Fandom: BBC Sherlock/Arthurian Mythology
Link(s): AO3
Summary: Mycroft is sent to Hampshire for a meeting that he has an ulterior motive for going to: there has been talk of strange goings ons in the nearby village of Farnham, Surrey, and a high ranking government official has disappeared. He tasks his brother to find out just what is going on, which leads to the discovery of a long lost colony of an ancient race who are normally peaceful but are being manipulated by an unscrupulous businessman with plans for taking what he believes to be rightfully his.

How I Lost My Shit: I couldn't figure out how to incorporate all the mythology I needed for the series and still make it a good story.
How I Finished My Shit: Comments from readers. This story is part of my "Unexpected Legacies" series, which I usually toss in a few fics every Halloween for a ficathon I take part in, but I wanted to get this one done before last Halloween and then just couldn't finish. But people have told me on AO3 and on Tumblr how much they love this series and were excited I was finishing this fic, so that helped.

Story Title: Do You Want To Be With Somebody Like Me?
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Link(s): AO3
Summary: Moriarty's return has only granted Sherlock a temporary reprieve from punishment over his actions regarding Magnussen, and when a mission involving Sebastian Moran crosses Mycroft's desk it seems to be the perfect way for Sherlock to pay his penance. This particular mission requires Sherlock to have a paramour, however, but Mycroft has that taken care of in the form of Molly. What begins as a ruse to fool Moran slowly becomes something more real, though, and as this mission takes Sherlock and Molly across the globe chasing after a ghost he begins to realize that there is much more that he can lose this time if he makes another wrong decision.
Warnings: Mild non-graphic violence, language

How I Lost My Shit: I think I was a tad overambitious when I started plotting out the end game after Prague and it scared me.
How I Finished My Shit: Panic & pride. Once I finished “No More Regrets” I took a good hard look at what else I could finish, and as I’d written four scattered chapters towards the end I decided this would be fic number 2. I managed to write the five chapters I needed to write all in one day, actually, and I think the story turned out well by ending the adventure in Washington DC as opposed to going further with it.

Story Title: Led About On A (Not So) Merry Chase
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Link(s): AO3
Summary: John enlists Molly’s help to cheer Sherlock up when Sherlock is down in the dumps about getting bad marks before the end of term, which means going home and facing his parents. Molly has the idea of a scavenger hunt to put Sherlock’s big, beautiful brain to use, but nothing goes right when what is supposed to be a private thing amongst a few friends becomes a campus-wide event. Will it all end happily ever after or will everything be worse off than they were before
Warnings: Mild language

Pairings: Sherlock Holmes/Molly Hooper & John Watson/Mary Morstan

How I Lost My Shit: For some reason I just couldn’t bring myself to write this particular college AU and ended up writing a bunch of other ones instead.
How I Finished My Shit: After falling asleep for almost an entire 48 hours because of chronic illness, I woke up the evening of the day before my first finished fic in this new batch went up and was all “What else can I finish to post on the 21st?” Five chapters and six hours later, I was done with this story. It’s shorter than I had planned, but I rather like it anyway.

Story Title: No More Regrets
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Link(s): AO3
Summary: Molly Hooper prefers a life limited to her teaching at King's College, the occasional consult for Scotland Yard and evenings with her cat and a good book, but her best mates think she should expand her horizons. On one of their regular "Let's get Molly a social life" nights, Molly meets a man who saves her from a sticky situation, but before she can get to know this Sherlock fellow any better she has to leave the pub. She thinks it's a fleeting "what might have been" moment, but Sherlock has other ideas about that.
Warnings: Mild non-graphic violence
Characters: Molly Hooper, Sherlock Holmes, Mary Morstan, Sally Donovan, John Watson, Greg Lestrade, Irene Adler, James Moriarty, Stella Hopkins & OMCs
Pairings: Sherlock Holmes/Molly Hooper, John Watson/Mary Morstan, Greg Lestrade/Sally Donovan
When I Started: May 19th, 2015
How I Lost My Shit: I actually had this plotted out once I hit chapter 19, and it seemed as though no matter what I did I couldn’t bring myself to write chapter 22. So that began the long hiatus for this fic.
How I Finished My Shit: Panic & pride. I have had the hell of a last few months (seriously, I think I’m cursed) and the closer the deadline got for the five days I had claimed where I had no new fics to show for it, I decided screw everything else, I was going to write and try and finish as many as I could. This was the first one I was able to finish, and it got a pretty good reception, so I was glad it ended up making people happy.

Story Title Never Will I Forget The Deep Shadows, Never Will I Waste The Moon’s Light
Fandom BBC Sherlock
Link Story: AO3 | Art: AO3 / DW / LJ
Summary The Holmes brothers come from a long line of powerful magic practitioners, but they are forced to keep their skills a secret. When Molly accidentally finds out about Sherlock’s powers and doesn’t turn away from him he slowly realizes that this pleases him, but soon enough he gets careless and is put in a position he would rather not be in, especially when others find out that she knows and attempt to use her as a pawn in their own games and machinations.
Warnings Mentions of attempted torture
Characters Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, Molly Hooper, James Moriarty
Pairings None, though hints at possible Sherlock Holmes/Molly Hooper should there be a sequel
When I Started November 5th, 2015
How I Lost My Shit I kept getting stuck on this story soooo many times, as it was a commission that I had trouble with because of the magic elements (and the fact that Tumblr locked me out of my inbox for a year where the commission details were).
How I Finished My Shit I almost didn't. The past few months have been absolute hell and I literally did not write the last chapter or epilogue until last night, and I just posted the epilogue twenty minutes ago. My life has been full of health complications that almost kept me from finishing but I was bound and determined to finish because of the beautiful art I had been given (seriously, it's stunning) and because this was a commission that deserved to be finished.

Story Title: Speak For The Dead
Fandom: Sherlock
Link(s): AO3
Summary: Molly gets a letter from a solicitor that she’s the sole beneficiary of the estate of a Miss Venecia Williamson, supposedly a great-aunt she’s never heard of. She inherits an estate on the outskirts of London, a large sum of money, a rather eclectic household and, rather unfortunately, a gift: the ability to speak to the dead. And even more unfortunately, there are people who would rather she didn’t put that gift to good use.

How I Lost My Shit: This was started for the Spook Me Ficathon’s 2015 round, of which I was a tad overambitious. I had attempted to finish it soon afterward, but real life just got to be too much.
How I Finished My Shit I almost didn’t. I worked on this story all the way up to the rough draft deadline, and then at the beginning of July scrapped almost everything I had written because honestly? It sucked. It just wasn’t what I wanted when I showed it to a friend of mine who had thoroughly enjoyed the previously posted five chapters. But I had an artist who had gotten excited and I didn’t want to disappoint so I worked really hard on, keeping in mind they were making a fanmix, and what we’d talked about the vibe of it was, and kept to that and came up with something I thought would work and honestly, I’m much happier with this second attempt than I was the first. I think the first attempt under my heavier pain pills was just not as good as the second attempt when I was thinking more clearly. It was much less gothic doom and gloom.

 Story Title: The Littlest Untruth
Fandom: Sherlock
Link(s): AO3
Summary: Sherlock and Molly need to travel away from London for a case, but when they make it to the village of Hatherleigh the car they are using breaks down. Molly is unaware that the small village is connected to his case, and when the proprietress of the inn assumes they’re a married couple he doesn’t disabuse her of the notion. He hopes that with the phone lines being down nothing will happen regarding the case but when the co-owner of the local garage is found dead in the other inn and Sherlock’s expertise is requested, he slowly realizes the fiction he’s perpetrating could be quite dangerous for both him and Molly.

How I Lost My Shit: This fic was a milestone fic, written to celebrate my 700th fic on AO3, and is peppered with quotes (some straight from the show, some adapted to fit the character I need saying them) that show up in the ads that play before various Acorn television shows when you watch them on DVD (I’m a huge fan of a ton of shows from the production company, like Midsomer Murders, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Agatha Christie’s Marple, Mr. & Mrs. Murder, Poirot...I see the ads all the time). I was really gung ho to write it until I had a huge section that had dialogue in French that I used Google Translate for and had someone leave a kind of rude comment for and that sapped my enthusiasm for really writing any more of it, and then I had other milestones I was hitting and it just kind of fell to the wayside.
How I Finished My Shit Well, it was hard. I was still writing it well after the check-in because the pain medication I was taking for my back surgery was making it hard to concentrate on the case aspect and it wasn’t until I had written the seventh chapter and sent it off to my beta I realized I needed to write two more chapters instead of one to finish it and I had messed up how I had originally planned on ending it, which went against all the French stuff I had done in the previous chapter, so I changed the French “cousin’s” background in the ninth chapter since I had given a vaguely worded prediction for the fortune teller, so it worked out. But yes. This was a hard one to finish with brain fog but I did it! I’m very proud of myself for that.

Summary: Molly had had plans for her holidays involving a cruise. Plans that did not involve having gallbladder surgery Christmas Eve morning or having Sherlock at her flat playing nursemaid while she recovered. But perhaps that was for the best, as she realizes that maybe there was something between the two of them that they'd both been denying for far too long.

How I Lost My Shit: This year I got really overwhelmed with writing commissions and personal stuff, so this just kind of fell to the wayside, and as it was a popular Sherlolly story of mine I wanted to finish it sooner rather than later.
How I Finished My Shit This one I always knew how I wanted to finish it, so it was just a matter of sitting down and actually finishing it, and when I had my back surgery the time just kind of opened up and I just did it.

How I Lost My Shit: I ended up having a lot of personal stuff happen, and I just lost interest in this story and this series in general.
How I Finished My Shit I’d had an idea in my head of where I wanted it to go for the last few years, but once I really got into writing the Sherlolly ship (and my friend who I write the series for started asking for Sherlolly fic from me last year) I started thinking I could work it into the series, which I did with a shorter one shot earlier this year, and then when I sat down to really work on this for the big bang I got hit with the idea of Sherlock staying at the school for a time, and maybe bringing back one or two old St. Trinian’s character’s into the series once Kelly had to leave for a bit, and then the ending finally came together and I was able to finish it.

How I Lost My Shit: This is backstory to an unexpected!novel. Yeah, I know! I started what I thought was just going to be a short story after I had An Idea about Sherlock coming to Boston, USA, in 1859, to capture and defeat the Irish rebel, James Moriarty. I wasn't particularly happy with what I wrote, and as I wrote the second chapter, I realized, once again, that the story I needed to tell was faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar longer than I had originally thought. By like, A LOT. I kept writing, and writing, and writing, and writing some more, and eventually it occurred to me that not everything I was writing could be contained within the main story, so I broke it up into a series under the overarching title 'The Shadows, Where Softly Steps the Light'. The main story is under the header 'A Lamp Amidst the Darkness', while the backstory is all under 'A Dark Lamp'.
How I Finished My Shit At 44k words, my brain just ground to a halt. I don't know why. I had read a number of articles and watched a few videos, but then one day I decided to read me some books, and my brain when nuts. I have 9k of outtakes, and that's just what I decided to keep, y'know? Anyhow, this part is done...now to do the rest....
