But he’s desperate to avoid a scandal that could derail his election campaign, so they agree to a cold-blooded business deal: she’ll marry him and be the perfect political wife—for a price, and a limited term.

When I Started: At the end of 2019. I wanted to practice writing longer work, so I decided to try adapting the plot of a novel I’d read into a modern AU. 

How I Lost My Shit: Even with a template to follow, I had to simplify it (cut out subplots) to make it shorter and alter some of the emotional arcs to fit this fandom/ship—so I still got stuck figuring out the mushy middle.
