The form will have all the information you need to give us in order to submit your fic for art. Feel free to copy/paste each snippet in its slot or use Google Docs links to link to your snippet, whichever is easier for you!

THIS IS JUST FOR THE REGULAR WIPBB, SO ONLY WRITERS WANTING ART NEED TO FILL IT OUT!

The form will close around the 14th of July.

Since a lot of people seem to be misinformed about snippets submissions, or real life is getting the better of them this week, I'm going to extend the submissions deadline to June 10th. That gives everyone five more days to submit snippets for fics you want art for. Remember, if you don't want art or you are bringing in your own artist/doing art for yourself, you DO NOT have to fill out the submissions form.

31 May 2023 @ 08:04 pm
(Posting it an hour early because I have laundry to do)

It's time for snippets collection! The form is live; you only need to fill out each section as best you can. Each snippet must be at least 500 words and ideally a maximum of 1,500 words. If you're a little over or under that's fine, but no one-sentence snippets this round, please. Remember, the snippets are just in case your artist can't read the fic.

I’ve been fighting a headache all day so I just woke up at 9:15 only to deal with my laptop needing to install updates. I have emails to answer now, and I know one person is switching WIPs at the last minute so I’m going to leave the form open until tomorrow morning and turn it off whenever I wake up (I’m aiming for 10 AM PST).

The snippets form will close at some point after 9PM PST on the 17th, so you’ve got about 36 hours to get your snippets submitted. We have 77 snippets so far, and I can always get back to you if you want to check if yours is on the list.

So this round there's been a slight change to the schedule. Snippets will start tonight and go to 9 PM PST on June 17th since so many people have asked for more time. Artist's claims will go up June 21st, and the third check-in on June 22nd will go up as planned, though just for the authors.

And without further ado, the snippet submission form is live! It's four pages long (page one is ID stuff, page two is story information, page three is the actual snippets at 500 to 1,500 words each, and page four is just for any notes you may have for us).

Remember: snippets are only needed if you want art. Every fic that has snippets submitted will get art. If you don't want art or you have your own artist, don't submit anything for snippets.

Snippet Submission Form Link

We've got 96 snippet submissions now, and I'm almost done gathering them all up so the artist claims may go up before 9 PM tomorrow. But hurry and submit your snippets if you haven't done it yet!

Snippets

We have an amazing 91 snippets so far! I’m going to work hard to get up the list of fandoms and summaries by 9 PM PST tomorrow, but I want to make sure everyone has one more chance to get their snippets in.

As I was bribed with cookies on Tumblr when asked, the snippet extension goes to midnight PST on the 17th. Artist claims will be up by 9 PM on the 17th as a result.

It's time for the submission of snippets for those looking to get art for their WIPBB fics! You have until June 15th to submit your story information, story summary and three snippets (between 500 and 1,500 words each) via the form below to have your fic laced on the art claims masterlist. There is a FAQ for snippet submission here. Remember this form is only mandatory if you want art; if you are forgoing art or bringing in your own artists, please let us know via e-mail at wipbigbang@gmail.com.

Snippet Summary Form

My apologies for posting this so close to snippet submission. I had the Coronavirus vaccine on Friday afternoon and I basically slept until 4 PM today. But this is a small FAQ based on questions I was emailed and saw on the Discord, which should help explain the process better.

How It All Works:

Basically, there will be a similar form to the check-in going up on the 1st, except this one is four pages long. The first page is e-mail, check-in ID and then a box to indicate you're checking in. This is just like the check-in forms, basically.

The second page of the form is where you'll put story information. There's sections for a title of your fic, the fandom(s), main pairings, characters involved, the AO3 warning list, a space for extra warnings (this is where you'd put stuff like underage, incest, squicks, etc), and rating. Please fill out as much of it as you can; this will be publicly posted on the artist's claim page, along with the story summary, which is also on this page.

The third page is where you'll leave the snippets. There's three paragraph boxes, and you just copy/paste the snippets right into the form. We prefer they be the actual text from the fic, but if you have a scene synopsis we'll take it. We do need the snippets to be R rated and under, so nothing too explicit, but some sensual stuff is allowed. Not all our artists are over the age of 18, we know that, so we ask for it to be as family friendly as possible. Max length for the snippets is 1,500 words, but if you're a little over it's okay.

The fourth page is just for notes to the mods, if there's anything you want to let us know (just like the check-ins had). If there's any other notes you want us to leave your artist, in case they choose not to communicate with you, this is the best place to do so.

If you don't want art, you don't have to submit anything, just wait until the rough draft check-in and let us know you're still participating. On that check-in you don't have to send us anything (we'll take your word you're 80% done) but it is a mandatory one, so if you miss it we have to drop you from the BB.

Stories don't have to be finished by then, but we do need your snippets or you won't receive art. Here is how to submit them. Please get in touch by then (even if it's to say you're having trouble getting them in), we are still missing snippets from a lot of you.

Go, go go!!!!

09 June 2020 @ 07:42 pm
Your snippets are due on Saturday, June 13th at 8:59pm CST, so we’re going to go ahead and start collecting them. This doesn't mean your story has to be complete right now (though you should have 80% of it done by July 25th), it just means we're collecting snippets for when your artist claims you.

Snippet submissions are done through a google form to streamline things. To submit your snippets, you will need the email and check in ID* you used to sign up. You will also need to include information about your fic and three snippets. The only required information other than snippets is fandom, pairings/characters, and summary, but the more information you include the better as this is the only information potential artists will see to decide if they would like to claim your fic for art. Your snippets should be between 500 — 1500 words EACH.

Click here to submit your snippets.

Failure to send us snippets or an email by July 13th will NOT drop you from the big bang, but you will not receive art for your fic. If you are bringing in your own artist or would like to opt out of receiving art, please let us know even if you’ve talked to us already. You do NOT have to send snippets if you’re bringing an artist or opting out.

*You should have received an autogenerated confirmation of your sign up with your check in ID if you need to double check what you used, but if you didn't or lost it, please email us at wipbigbang@gmail.com and we'll find that info for you.

This year, snippet submissions are working a little differently than in years past. We are using a google form to streamline things, which should make things easier both for you as participants and us mods. They will help your artist match the tone of your work, so try to pick excerpts that really encompass the tone and feeling of your story.

If you are bringing in your own artist or would like to opt out of receiving art, please let us know even if you’ve talked to us already. You do NOT have to send snippets if you’re bringing an artist or opting out.

Your snippets are due on Saturday, May 19th at 8:59pm CST, so we’re going to go ahead and start collecting them. This doesn't mean your story has to be complete right now (though you should have 80% of it done by June 23rd), it just means we're collecting snippets for when your artist claims you.

What we need from you:

Author Name on AO3 or Fanfiction.net*
Livejournal/Dreamwidth Name*
Story Title
Fandom
Pairings, Characters
Rating
Warnings (Violence, Non-Con/Dub-Con, Incest, Major Character Death, Etc)
Summary

*Your name will not be included on the claims post. This is for organizational purposes.

And three snippets which should be between 500-1000 words each. These will help your artist match the tone of your work, so try to pick excerpts that really encompass the tone and feeling of your story. Please include them directly in the body of the email. Please do not send attachments. Please include ALL of these things in your email with the subject [YOUR NAME] WIP BIG BANG SNIPPETS. Emails can be sent to wipbigbang@gmail.com. If you have multiple fics, please send a separate, numbered email for each one. You will receive a confirmation email once we’ve gotten your email.

To make it easier, here's a copy and paste-able textarea to put in your email:

Failure to send us snippets or an email by May 19th will NOT drop you from the big bang, but you will not receive art for your fic. This is, however, the last chance to change fics, so be sure to send us an email if you would like to do that. If you are bringing in your own artist or would like to opt out of receiving art, please let us know even if you’ve talked to use already. You do NOT have to send snippets if you’re bringing an artist or opting out, but we still need to verify your info.
