So it looks like, between the Tumblr and DW post, that extending the sign-ups would be something y'all want. So the sign-ups are now officially extended to **May 28th**! I'll still be posting the first check-in form tomorrow, and instead of staying open for one week it will stay open for two this round.

So I have been up for the last 34 hours working on advertisements on Tumblr and I have got to get some sleep. But I have about 11 fandoms that have writers/artists signed up already that I want to advertise to so we have potential partners already following when art claims/fic claims go up. So how would you all feel if I extended sign-ups to the 28th? The first check-in will still go live on the 22nd, but since they're voluntary you don't have to do it if you just signed up (we don't ask for proof of progress, BTW; it's just a checkbox to let us know you're still participating). Sign ups for the regular round of WIPBB are now closed. We had almost 500 different fics submitted! Yay to everyone forging ahead on finishing their work this round, and good luck!

There is also something we're doing a trial run of this round, with sign ups starting June 1st. We're going to see if we can handle a Reverse WIPBB as well, where artists sign up to finish their art and can potentially get a 750 word minimum fic written for it (just like the original WIPBB, this part is opt in). We will have a modified schedule and more information coming out shortly!

2022 Sign-Up Form

And it has begun! Feel free to use this form to sign your fics up for the 2022 round of WIP Big Bang!

The sign-up form is going up early because I plan on being out of the apartment a lot tomorrow and knowing my chronic fatigue I won’t wake up until 5 PM since I was up early today, so I may not be home to put it up at 9 PM tomorrow. So it’s going up at 9 PM PST tonight, which is midnight April 1st EST.

Just a few last-minute reminders to make sure everything runs smoothly:

- The Livejournal community is being archived, but I haven’t looked at the form to see if I can take that option off the usernames section. I’m going to replace it with Wattpad as I know some people plan on posting their fics there instead of AO3/FF.net if I can adjust it on the original form.

- Each fic you sign up to finish must have a unique user ID. You can’t use the same user ID for multiple fics.

- You can sign up for as many fics as you want! We have some people who sign up with 5+ per round, and that’s great! Just remember you must have at least 500 words written out or outlined to submit a fic, and your end goal for the fic should be to finish with 7,500 words or over.

- Please, keep notes of what user IDs you sign up with for what fic you’re finishing. But if you lose it, just remember I can tell you anything on the form you signed up with, from fic title to user ID to starting word count for the bragging rights.

Claims for artists are open! The first round will go this week and then I'll post a new round on Thursday, opening it up for seconds. Everybody spread the word! We have 98 story summaries below for you to choose from!

This year, art claims are working a little differently than in years past. We are using a google form to streamline things, which should make things easier both for you as participants and us mods. To claim a story, the form requires email, check in ID, and the identifying number of your first choice of story. Putting your top three choices is best in case your first or second has already been chosen. Please be sure you've read the FAQ before claiming.

Stories are listed by fandom in alphabetical order and then by the story name, with a number identifying that story (for our records). Stories are first come, first serve. I'll update the post as stories are claimed. On Thursday, I'll temporarily close the form and post the stories that are left.

Official posting dates begin on August 8th. Once all stories are claimed and all artists/authors have been notified, I will put up a sign-up sheet so authors and artists can choose their posting dates.

We had 287 individual sign-ups this round! There’s a lot of great fandom representation and it’s great to see so many participants. The next step is the first check-in, which will go up at 9 PM this evening. A reminder that the check-in is not mandatory, so if you just signed up, no pressure.

I am extending sign-ups for one week, so they are now ending on April 22nd due to apparent miscommunication on the subject of whether original fiction is allowed. This will give people a chance to sign up or drop out with this rule being clarified on all platforms.

From this round forward, we will not be allowing original fiction. Fanfiction of all stripes is fine. (RPS/RPF is fine. Incest pairings are fine. Things like that I know have been hinted at in questions asked and as long as you tag for them, we'll allow it). And canon settings with mostly OCs is allowed. But strictly original fiction is not.

Please be patient with us as we transition from one set of mods to another. I'm not on the Discord server but some of the sentiments there have made me start to regret taking moderation of this Big Bang on, and I want future rounds as much as other people do so I hate feeling like that. We aren't perfect; we're humans and we make mistakes. Please be patient with us. Thank you.
