How I Finished My Shit: My friend and beta reader rumpelsnorcack had always wanted a sequel and I always had intended to finish it. I was inspired by WIPBB since it helps to have a deadline, and once the lovely captainamergirl chose to make art for me, I had an additional inspiration to finish the story. :)

How I Lost My Shit: After having a strong start, I stalled after a few months. Coupled with some big life changes, I was tempted to put this away and finish it later.
How I Finished My Shit: Seeing this challenge at the same time that I was starting to lose focus was very serendipitous. Signing up and committing helped me push through and keep writing. This gave me a very clear deadline (even as this story grew much longer than I expected).

I decided to write an epilogue for this book that wrapped up the hanging plot points and brought some closure to the plot, then moved on with my life.

How I Lost My Shit: Listen, I tried as hard as I could not to start this fic. At the start of the year, I wanted to work on an original series I've been tossing back and forth and written a lot for, but never managed to complete (hello next year's WIP Big Bang), but I couldn't stop thinking about it and started writing it. THEN! I restarted after 20,000 words because something wasn't right with the time line. THEN I had another idea that made the time line shift AS WELL as ruin a good majority of the continuity so far. I had written to the middle of book two at that point, and I realized I needed to start over. I was ready to throw my hands up, but the fic kept bugging me, so here we are (ideally I want to finish the whole series before the year is out, so I really need to get my shit together. Speaking of...)
How I Finished My Shit: So, so many word sprints with friends, a lot of butt in chair time, outlines, muttering to myself, "This is teaching you how to write a series, all the hiccoughs are a good thing," writer's block, catching up after writer's block, Camp NaNoWrimo April, Camp NaNoWriMo July, my friends being totally interested as explained what was going on in the fic, friends helping me brainstorm and friends just being awesome. Thanks y'all. I finished this for you and I'm probably going to finish the others for you too.

I was really stuck on how this fic would flow, and I realized it was because I needed to first know what happened between them all those years ago, before I could tell the story of them coming back together. 
How I Finished My Shit: I posted the prequel to this, Not Just When You Want to Be, in March this year. As it doesn't have a happy H/D ending, I knew I wanted to try and get the sequel out this year if possible, but I wasn't feeling a ton of drive. And then wipbigbang came along, and suddenly I had deadlines! A finish-by goal! And I got moving. :D

But I decided on this one, because I wasn’t as burnt out by it yet as I hadn’t returned to it as often. It was only missing it conclusion and was so, so close to being finished. I just needed the last three chapters.
How I Finished My Shit Obviously, from signing up with this fest. So first thing, I went through chapter by chapter and edited it again. Which turned out to be a bigger thing than just spelling and grammar, because I head hopped a lot. I had to write parts to fit POVs, and then delete parts because they couldn’t fit. Then I changed my chapter breaks to make the chapters more even. And then finally, I wrote the last three chapters.
