When I Started:** One of my Tumblr mutuals posted an interesting prompt involving Billy and an unicorn, so I wrote a little snippet, thinking about turning it into a longer story at some point.
How I Lost My Shit:** The pandemic happened, life happened, went into a depression spiral, etc.
How I Finished My Shit:** Saw WIP Big Bang coming around again, and that was the kick in the butt I needed to get things going!

When I Started: Sometime 2006-2007ish. The original file has been lost to the mists of time.

How I Lost My Shit: I wrote the first chapter of this as a one shot not long after after Revenge of the Sith came out, but the ending was a little too depressing. I kept trying to think of a way to expand the story and give it a happier conclusion, but it never quite came together, and after a while I drifted into other fandoms and lost my motivation. But I never forgot about it!

How I Finished My Shit: A friend talked me into doing the WIP Big Bang, and this story was the obvious choice. Over the years, I'd come up with a pretty solid plot outline, but never felt the urgency to work on it. I'm always better with a deadline, so I figured this was my best shot to finally get it done. Having my betas and artist reading along as I wrote and encouraging me was super helpful. But mostly, I'm a stronger writer now than I was 15 years ago. So maybe I just wasn't meant to finish it until now. :)
