Summary: Imladris does not escape the War of the Ring unscathed; it is besieged by an army of orcs, and perhaps something even darker crawling from the roots of the mountains. Arwen and her family and friends resist the siege, and wait to learn the fate of Middle-Earth.
Warnings: Canon-typical violence. Pregnancy of a secondary character (but no onscreen childbirth).

When I Started: Got the idea in early 2021 when someone said they’d always wanted to read about Rivendell during the War of the Rings and I remembered I’d always wanted to write it.
How I Lost My Shit: Hadn't written Tolkien bookverse fic in a long time and was intimidated by how much of the complicated timeline & genealogy I'd forgotten.
How I Finished My Shit: Remembered that I knew people who were still in the fandom and could check all those details. Plus I really wanted Arwen to do a little dragonslaying, as a treat!
