I’ve been fighting a headache all day so I just woke up at 9:15 only to deal with my laptop needing to install updates. I have emails to answer now, and I know one person is switching WIPs at the last minute so I’m going to leave the form open until tomorrow morning and turn it off whenever I wake up (I’m aiming for 10 AM PST).

The snippets form will close at some point after 9PM PST on the 17th, so you’ve got about 36 hours to get your snippets submitted. We have 77 snippets so far, and I can always get back to you if you want to check if yours is on the list.

So after talking it over with vtsuion​, who had hosted the last actual Original Fiction event that we can think of like WIPBB, I decided that in the 2023 round, we’ll change the FAQ to allow Original Fiction. But we’re also going to allow it this round, if anyone who had original fiction wants to resubmit it (we had four people sign up with Original Fic this round, but I wanted to offer a second chance to them first, and then the rule applies to everyone next round).

So if you originally signed up with an Original Fic and still want to work on it for this round of WIPBB, please send the following information to wipbigbang@gmail.com:

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to participate! We have a whopping 431 people, minus a few entries I need to delete or alter. We may actually have to extend posting into October this round, which I know will make some of you very happy.

Check-in #1 is going live tonight, and while we’d love for you to check-in, remember it’s optional (and it’s also live for a week, so you don’t need to rush and do it tonight).

2022 Sign-Up Form

And it has begun! Feel free to use this form to sign your fics up for the 2022 round of WIP Big Bang!

The sign-up form is going up early because I plan on being out of the apartment a lot tomorrow and knowing my chronic fatigue I won’t wake up until 5 PM since I was up early today, so I may not be home to put it up at 9 PM tomorrow. So it’s going up at 9 PM PST tonight, which is midnight April 1st EST.

Just a few last-minute reminders to make sure everything runs smoothly:

- The Livejournal community is being archived, but I haven’t looked at the form to see if I can take that option off the usernames section. I’m going to replace it with Wattpad as I know some people plan on posting their fics there instead of AO3/FF.net if I can adjust it on the original form.

- Each fic you sign up to finish must have a unique user ID. You can’t use the same user ID for multiple fics.

- You can sign up for as many fics as you want! We have some people who sign up with 5+ per round, and that’s great! Just remember you must have at least 500 words written out or outlined to submit a fic, and your end goal for the fic should be to finish with 7,500 words or over.

- Please, keep notes of what user IDs you sign up with for what fic you’re finishing. But if you lose it, just remember I can tell you anything on the form you signed up with, from fic title to user ID to starting word count for the bragging rights.

So far, Mod Bere and Mod Vex will not be returning this round (waiting to hear back from the rest of the mods), so I am looking for someone who will take over the Word Wars. If you’re interested, please let me know!
