When I Started:⟫ 6th October 2020

How I Lost My Shit:⟫ The idea popped into my head to write it so I did a couple of banners and started writing. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to carry on. The further I got into it, the more I realised that I didn’t want to do a re-write of 50 Shades and I wrote myself into a corner that I couldn’t seem to get out of. Despite the fact that I have never left something unfinished, I was pretty sure this was going to be the first time for it to happen, especially with real-life kicking me in the teeth and other stories taking precedence.

How I Finished My Shit:⟫ wipbigbang turned up on my feed and I found myself thinking that I could revisit 50 Shades. There began several re-reads, a few false turns and what I thought was a completed fic. Then, on a final re-read, I discovered the mother of all plot holes which meant that I had a few weeks to completely rewrite the last few chapters. I was not happy, felt like the story was fighting me every step of the way, and was struggling with the lack of ongoing cheerleaders that I was used to when writing a multi-chapter fic. Real-life continued to kick me in the proverbial nuts, but I am incredibly pleased to say that I finally finished it! And, if I’m not mistaken, there are no plot holes! I even managed to write some BDSM that didn’t make me cringe and run away from the computer!
