How I Lost My Shit: So, I had previously written short and somewhat fluffier/relationship oriented plots for the other 3 stories in this series, which all deal with Nancy and Frank finally really hooking up, 3 years after the SuperMysteries timeframe. I decided to stretch and write one that was more of a mystery, but still plenty of shippiness. (The rest of the series is linked in the story entry.) At the time I started working on the series, I was newly divorced, deployed to Iraq and really needed the outlet. Then I got an insane job and didn't have as much time, and got stalled out on Chapter 11. I had a big chunk of what is now Chapter 14 written but the actiony part was giving me problems. So I kept putting it off, and putting it off... and here we are.
How I Finished My Shit: I learned something from this story (and another one) - the whole story needs to be finished before I post. I resisted the urge to pull a George Lucas and polish the story up too much (although I did make some minor changes and fixes). Otherwise, people get left hanging. I've also learned that I do better when I have a deadline and assignment, which is why I now write for a ton of exchanges. So the Big Bang deadline gave me the structure I needed AND the promise of art for my story. So I finally, finally finished it - which means I need to extend the series some.

I'm also updating it on FF.net, although I remember why I stopped uploading stuff there...the format is less convenient than AO3.
