Word War! Kick-off & Check-in

And the Word War is a Go!

- To participate, please reply with a comment using the template below. Since we're starting with this War in-progress (as it's Sunday already) - Please feel free to also count this as your first check-in. Share your goals, and your current progress!

- Check-in at any time. Can only participate 1 day? That's fine! You don't have to participate during the entire word war, just jump in whenever you can and do any amount of writing in order to qualify. There will be daily check-ins. :)

- The Whine Bar is open! It's a great place to vent, commiserate and share in each others pains and joys!

- Remember to check back in with your final, ending word count within approximately 24 hours after the war ends!

Projects Worked On: WIPBB (also gonna work on my Fandom5k fic, I think...
If You Set Other Goals (a specific scene, adding some angst/fluff, reach a certain plot point, whatever) Are You Progressing? Transition scenes are a pain! Still trying to connect two scenes since I jumped ahead while the muse was cooperating.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, snippets, etc.) Nothing really right now, but I'm sure I'll be panic-flailing soon enough! :D

At some point, I need to sit down and figure out the story beats - make sure they are on track. Happy with what I've managed this weekend.

TOTAL WORDS SO FAR: new for word war: 1k+ [full story as of start: 56,392 and current: 57,573]
Projects Worked On: 1 = For Science (fandom: The 4400)
Other Goals (outline the ending) Are You Progressing? I don't usually bother with outlines, but as I near the wrap-up-all-the-loose-plot-threads stage, I think I need at least a rough summary of the ending so I don't forget something critical.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, snippets, etc.) ??? All of the above. I just realized I need to re-watch the last season of the show if I have a chance of tying this all together properly because there are too many specific details that I can't remember.

I should follow your lead and outline. I need to keep things together and when I get on a roll, I end up with plot creep! :)

All I've managed so far is staring at my notes, watching a video on time travel paradoxes for motivation, and pondering... lots of pondering. I believe I've got a way to tie it all together, but... I have to write so much exposition at this point and I haven't quite worked out how to do all of that without a massive info-dump that will slow down the pace.

1. Re-visit the "feelings/explicit" part of the story
2. Make a new list of scenes that belong to this part
3. Write at least 2 of the following scenes: waking up, fighting, shower.

I got suddenly re-excited about the explicit sub-plot of my story, while trying to find something to send as snippets. So I've decided to abandon the attempts to resolve the actual plot for now, and write those! :)))
